WordPress Install Made Simple •
These days, having a website isn’t just a nice-to-have – it’s a must, whether you’re running a business, building a personal brand, or launching a project. And when it comes to tools for creating and managing websites, WordPress continues to lead the pack with its flexibility and ease of use.
A Brief Background
WordPress began as an effort to make website creation easier. It was developed as the successor to a blogging tool called b2/cafelog. In 2003, developers Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little launched WordPress, and thanks to its user-friendly interface and powerful features, it quickly became popular.
At its core, WordPress is a Content Management System (CMS)—a software application that makes it easy to create, edit, and organize digital content. What makes WordPress unique is its open-source model. It’s free to use, and anyone can modify or share the source code to suit their needs.
WordPress has grown into the go-to platform for websites of all kinds and complexities. With a huge ecosystem of plugins, a simple interface, and a strong feature set, it gives users the flexibility to build whatever kind of site they envision.
WordPress Installation Options
There are two main ways to install WordPress:
- Using WordPress.org servers.
- Installing it on your own hosting (self-hosted).
